The Bulletproof Mind

Psychological preparation for combat. Bringing together current trends in violence, from terrorists to aggravated assaults, Col. Grossman coalesces his research into a presentation affirming the life that all law enforcement and military professionals have chosen to lead. Within that context, Grossman presents a model for action that ensures professionals can train for and overcome the unique mental stressors of possible violence. Find out what to expect when your heart rate rises and blood drains from your face, and how to avoid it.

A cornerstone for professional training if you might come into contact with inter-personal violence. Knowing what strange and wonderful things might happen to your body in these stressful situations is the first step to making the correct decision in the heat of the moment… and after.

Safe Schools and Healthy Students

No child has died in a school fire in fifty years. How many have died from school violence? Far too many.

Lt. Col. Grossman turns his research on the psychology of violence inside out, applying the lesson he’s learned into a presentation whose core thesis everyone can agree on: We must protect the children who have been entrusted to our care.

And that means facing some uncomfortable facts, including violent children, terrorists, and the lagging security systems when something does happen. Taking into context the tragedies of school massacres from Jonesboro to Columbine, Sandy Hook to Uvalde, Col. Grossman outlines a series of strategies to help keep our kids safe, including immediate and long-term solutions.

A fact filled presentation based on the most recent school safety research and offering vital response technologies for any audience of caring teachers, school officials, and parents.

Testimonials

I attended a seminar of yours in Orlando in 2012 or 2013. I wanted to let you know that the information I received in that seminar about the mental state of Police and military personnel after critical incidents was a great help to me throughout the remainder of my career. The overall message of “ if you think you’re going crazy, you may go crazy, but conversely if you remain calm and know that what you are experiencing is normal, you will be ok. “ was a great help to me when I was involved in a deadly OIS in 2018. In short, thank you for all you do! I have spent years telling people what you told us that day to help others.

Dear Lt. Col. Grossman, I just finished On Combat and would like to thank you for sharing that great book. I have treated trauma for years and you explain everything in a great way, from a different angle than that of a “normal psychiatric” perspective. I thank you and will use your insights in my teachings of psychology students from now on. Please be assured that rippling is at work, I will suggest your work to my students! Looking forward to On Killing, which I just started. Best wishes.

Good Evening Sir your two books On Combat and On Killing really had a remarkable impact on my
life and understanding as a Law Enforcement Officer and a Professional Soldier. God has blessed you to do some incredible work. I recommend my Junior Enlisted Soldiers to read these two books as to give them valuable insight into how the mind processes stress in various environments. God Speed and Keep up the amazing work.

It was midnight this past weekend and I was to escort the keynote speaker from the airport to our hotel. Little did I know, that drive in those early morning hours would become a moment in my life of profound importance.

Col. Dave Grossman w/ @grossmanontruth & Johnny Strickland w/ @protectwithbear asked me about a recent tragic law enforcement encounter that I survived.

The three of us had a 40 minute drive and I shared the painful details with these honorable men. Col. Grossman leaned forward in the back passenger seat the entire time actively listening to every word I spoke as Johnny sat next to me in support. The Colonel squeezed my shoulder as a coach would, and shared words in private that changed me.

As brothers in faith in His Kingdom, Johnny and Col. Grossman have left a lasting impression in my life. These are the men that direct souls to Him; these are the men to measure oneself to. Love will always defeat evil as long as good men such as them are willing to represent something bigger than themselves.

Although I’m retired, I just want to remind you that I thoroughly enjoy all of your books,
and the many seminars that I have attended where you educate officers and civilians,
and in my opinion, forewarn them of things to come and how to prevent such bad things
from happening.
Everything from your advice on how to deal with stress and combat to how to “Stop
Teaching our Kids to Kill” and the psychology surrounding video games and media
violence. I took it all in and I am better because of it. But most importantly, I wish the
world would have listened to you. Because you were spot on and 100% right about what
was yet to come. You predicted the future based on your experience and your
observations. From my first seminar 2000 or 2001.
I believe when you said these mass shootings are in our elementary schools and high
schools. You predicted that this generation of kids would grow to be in colleges,
workplaces and in our society and the mass shootings would continue to those entities
and beyond. If only people would have listened to you. I did, and I’m wiser for it.
I’m always watching people 6’s and I pray as a retired police officer that people will have
my six as well. Thank you again for everything and I will stay engaged in your future
books, and seminars and as long as I can!
